East Midlands Region

The East Midlands Region meets three or four times a year and includes an Annual General Meeting in June. The meetings enable branches in the region to discuss the work of NCW nationally and work together on projects.

They also inform each other of branch activities:

  • Seminars
  • Study Days
  • Meetings
  • Luncheons
  • Discussions
  • Speakers
  • Share and generate new ideas
  • Discuss and propose resolutions
  • Meet regional officers, new members and catch up with old friends.

Our discussions encourage members to air their views in a safe environment. The topics can relate to any of our special committees and can also include items high on the agenda in the media. Our speakers and discussions cover a wide range of subjects and have included an independent financial adviser who gave us valuable information on inheritance tax and solutions that could enable our life long financial security and a discussion on the 'Sexualisation of Children' relating to inappropriate footwear, clothing, television programmes and magazines.

As a region, we generate interest and ideas in local and regional affairs and feed information into the national arena of the NCWGB.
