In October 2023 NCWGB was delighted to receive funding from the International Council of Women, to improve our engagement with young women aged 16 to 30 years.
The funds are to support work to engage young women who face disadvantage or discrimination. Several of our younger members meet monthly and have begun to plan events for the following year. Their ideas include a conference in early summer which will celebrate under-represented voices, venue and time to be confirmed.
Participation of younger women is key to the future of policy-making, so we are always delighted to welcome new members. Our schools programme works with young women aged 16 to 18, and our Network members are 18 to 30. Network members pay a reduced annual membership fee of £15, receive subsidised travel to national events, the opportunity to represent NCWGB at the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women, and an invitation to join the teams planning our work.
