Welcome to Environmenstrual – reducing plastics in period products!
The National Council of Women Great Britain collaborated with the Women’s Environmental Network to present a free online talk about Environmenstrual on September 24, 2024. Helen Lynn, WEN’s Campaign Manager for their project Environmenstrual, inspired the audience with details of their work driving for a reduction of plastic use in period products. Discussion topics included sustainable alternatives and how to make a positive impact on the environment.
Helen was accompanied by a member of the Soroptimists group where they spoke about their period pants project. NCW’s Sheila Petersen then spoke about the project she co-founded to create cotton reuseable period products for women and girls in developing countries.
