In light of Elsie Leadley’s retirement, NCWGB would like to announce the appointment of Jilly Rogers as our new President.

We thought we’d ask Jilly some questions to help you get to know a bit about her and her hopes for NCWGB.

Jilly, you joined NCW in 2017, what made you want to join the organisation?
“I joined NCW because I was inspired by listening to the informed debate women of all ages were having about topics of real importance to me and society. Issues such as women in prison, use of food banks by mums, the impact of county lines on the lives of young women and women’s health: all topics that I was interested in but often knew little about. It was great to find a group of like minded women to talk with and often learn from.”

What are you looking forward to in your coming Presidency?
“I’m really looking forward to working with my inspiring colleagues on the management committee to grow the work and influence of NCW. We work with women of all ages and I look forward making an impact with our focused resolutions on topics that really matter to all women. Our resolutions go forward to government to influence policy so our voice is heard at the highest level. We have a rich history of campaigning and look forward to a bright future.”

Is there anything you’d like to add?
“I’d like to take a moment to thank Elsie for her hard work and service. Elsie has steered NCW through the past few years with skill and vision. We are stronger and more focused for her leadership. We wish her all the best in her retirement. All members of management committee and of the wider organisation will continue to work to improve the world for women.”

Thanks Jilly. We wish you all the best as our President.
