Last week Mariam Keating, Head of the Home Affairs, Human Rights, Equalities and Justice Hub in the House of Commons, published this article about “Violence against women and girls in 2025” on the House of Commons Library page.

The article details previous VAWG government strategies and their effectiveness it also considers what a new strategy could include to be effective. This is written in anticipation of the government’s new strategy that is set to be published this summer.

NCWGB is looking forward to hearing the government’s strategy to halve violence against women and girls within a decade. Nonetheless, we remain deeply concerned about the scale of violence against women and girls in England and Wales and the existing problems in the way the police and the criminal justice system are handling rape and sexual offence cases.
