The National Council of Women GB hosted an exciting online event celebrating the incredible contributions of women’s organisations in the fight against climate change.
Event partners covering women’s diverse concerns about environmental impacts included:
The International Federation of Women’s Institutes runs a network of Climate Change Ambassadors across the country who encourage members in green activities. The WI is a founding member of the Climate Coalition and calls on community networks to come together on climate action projects in their local area.
The Communion Forest is a global initiative comprising local activities of forest protection, tree growing and eco-system restoration undertaken by provinces, dioceses and individual churches across the Anglican Communion to safeguard creation.
The Women’s Faith Forum is a group of six women from each of the major faiths who have been working together for three years to ensure the voices of women are better heard amongst policy makers. They are uniquely placed as mothers, daughters, carers, community builders and facilitators to come together, regardless of our political affiliations. Their aim is to work together for a better country for all, even as the world around us is in crisis.
Special thanks to the following event speakers:
Emma Holland-Lindsay, Director of Campaigns and Membership at the National Federation of Women’s Institutes
